Daniel Abraham
Some of my earliest recordings, most of them out of Davout Studios in Paris. It wasn't unusual then to record an album in less than a week, sometimes we'd get two albums in a single afternoon - see some of the blues lps I did below.
Although most of these recordings were for local artists, this was not always the case. American expatriates and touring musicians often came to the studio to record jazz or blues sessions. Among them, Nina Simone, Sugar Blue, Little Milton and Mickey Baker, to name a few.
This list is incomplete, since I have a pretty bad memory, and didn't keep a log of all the sessions I did at the time. Here is what I remember after all these years.

','','Possibly the most intense experience I ever had in a studio. An atmosphere of madness surrounded the sessions. One day, she threw a vintage Neuman 47 flying into the control room window because I was smoking a cigarette ("I don\'t like my engineers to smoke" she explained, lighting a marlboro). Another day she fired her gun at someone that annoyed her - turned out to be blanks, thankfully. A very talented but unfortunately torn artist. R.I.P.

','','The record company had simply advised me to "Get as much as you can on tape, as fast as you can", so convinced they were that the band wouldn\'t stay together to complete the project. It did, but the strains were much too real, and this wasn\'t much of a fun project. It also didn\'t help that the studio kept breaking down and was basically not suited for a rock band.
